Yes they are very safe. All of the equipment used at Chicago Wellness Source is state of the art FDA registered and all Colon HydroTherapist are I-ACT certified. The Colon HydroTherapist is always monitoring the device to make sure this process is safe. At Chicago Wellness Source we only use Single-use disposablenozzles/speculums and releasing tubing — brand new to each client and discarded after each use. Sterile individual thick lubrication packets are used for maximum comfort during insertion and removal. Both Open and Closed devices use a 3 stage filter and use temperature-controlled water. The pre‐filtered, purified water is introduced at a low gravitational pressure. Following each session, ALL devices are meticulously disinfected before each client, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.

Yes, both men and women receive colon hydrotherapy. In fact, 40% on our clients are men and 60% are women. Ages 18 and up. Everyone has a colon, and everyone has similar wellness goals. Whether it’s for general detox, prepping before an important event, or bowel health in general, we provide a safe and private location for you to achieve those goals. 

Great question, it’s not so much about “which device is better” but rather “which device is better for YOU” — some clients have better releases with the Closed System while others prefer the Open System. In general, clients seem to have better releases when they are more comfortable and more relaxed. This is why here at Chicago Wellness Source, we give our clients a choice of which colon cleansing system to use.  Both systems are the same price and same duration … and both can achieve your goals! We encourage you to eventually try both systems to determine which one your body responds to most comfortably. Everyone is different, therefore the number of colon hydrotherapy sessions moving forward will depend on the individual’s habits and wellness goals. Usually, 1 session will not empty your entire colon because the colon is 5-6 feet long. Most of our clients have found that scheduling sessions as close together as possible usually gives the best results.

On the first session, the body will experience hydration and sometimes small amounts of waste is released. Please remember, this is very typical. Small amounts of release does not equal failure — this is your first time and it is a process. The result may depend on several factors including the ability of the body to relax, the health condition of the colon, diet and water intake to name a few. Allow yourself a chance to take in this whole process. 

How you feel after your session can be compared to deep cleaning a house…what was hidden? 

Most of our clients feel great after their session: alertness, energized, feeling of cleanliness, feeling lighter, less bloated, more range of motion in the core, happy. Others may feel general detox symptoms which usually last a short duration and should disappear within 24-48 hours: tired, headache, fatigue or nausea — this is known as a ‘healing crisis’ and can be mild or quite noticeable and can vary from person to person. Remember, your digestive system just had a mini workout. If you feel energized, go out and enjoy your day. If you feel tired, rest. Listen to your body!

Colon hydrotherapy is very clean; the entire treatment area, colonic device and toilet facilities are disinfected following each client.

To ensure maximum sanitation, we use a new single-use disposable speculum/rectal nozzle and releasing tubing for each client. These are disposed after each client, no exceptions!

Following each colonic session, the device is thoroughly sanitized and disinfected with FDA approved medical grade virucide/fungicide/germacide disinfectant solution.

After disinfecting, the device is generously cleansed with water clearing the disinfectant solution completely from the device.

The colonic device has several check valves in it to prevent waste water from returning to the water supply. Both Open and Closed devices use a 3 stage filter and use pre‐filtered, purified temperature-controlled water. 

No, in fact, it’s usually a good time to receive treatment since your body is already cleansing. Your cycle has no effect on the success of the treatment. However, if you are nervous about your first colonic session and you tend to have a painful heavy menstrual cycle, it might be best to wait until after your menstrual period has finished. 

No. Here at Chicago Wellness Source, colon hydrotherapy is uniquely customized for each client to make you feel as comfortable as possible. You will receive one-on-one attention with our trained and certified colon hydrotherapists. Each colonic is completely customized to your needs for that day, as each time you come in your body may need something different. Some sessions you may have more releases than other days.. all depending on what your body responds to on that day.

Late arrival policy:

We are looking forward to seeing you! Please know, the wellness therapist has reserved time exclusively for you. We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, and therefore you have the opportunity to cancel up to 12 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. This allows us to possibly accommodate others on the waitlist with enough time to schedule in your place.

Late arrivals up to 10 minutes may result in a shortened session. We will make every effort to work with you in these cases. If time does not permit for you to receive a full session, your time will be shortened and you will be charged the full service fee.

Cancelling/Rescheduling policy:

You may cancel and reschedule an appointment up to 12 hours before your scheduled service time without a fee. Cancelling OR rescheduling an appointment WITHIN 12 hours of the reserved time will incur a cancellation/rescheduling fee for 100% of the scheduled service. There are NO exceptions to this policy.

For clients using a package, missed appointments will result in the loss of one session from the package. Cancelling OR rescheduling an appointment WITHIN 12 hours of the reserved time will result in the loss of one session from the package. There are NO exceptions to this policy.

No-Show policy:

Any late appointments greater than 10 minutes are considered a NO-SHOW. No-Shows are an automatic cancellation fee for 100% of the scheduled service. There are NO exceptions to this policy. For clients using a package, missed appointments/no shows will result in the loss of one session from the package.

All services/packages must be paid in full. All sales are final and nontransferable, NO refunds.
